I love the New Year! It’s a fresh slate for me. A time to review the year passed and thoughtfully (prayerfully) look ahead. As we approach 2015 I am already thinking about my goals and how I can live my life with intention, where I want to grow and excel in and new endeavors I want to pursue. I know for so many of us the idea of “resolutions” are negative because we instantly think of how quick our excitement dwindles about our promises to lose weight or not lose our temper.
Over the years I have had some great teachers and mentors who have taught me the fundamentals of personal and professional growth. It comes down to setting goals for yourself and writing out specific ways in which you will go about reaching those goals. Here are a few important things I have learned over the years that have helped me grow as an individual:
“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” ~ Tony Robbins
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” ~ Pablo Picasso
